About this place
On the ridge above Pokhara, facing the entire Annapurna wall from the bed
Tanka's family farm became a homestay when he realised city people would pay to see what he sees every morning. Three rooms in a stone house with a big shared deck, a kitchen that smells of mustard oil, and a son who can tell you the name of every peak in the wall, in order, without hesitation.
It is simple and it is honest: hot water twice a day in winter, a heater that actually works, no TV, dinner at 19:30 with the family unless you say otherwise. People arrive expecting a hotel and leave having eaten too much dal bhat and learned the names of two mountains.

Guest room
Room 1 has the full-view window and the best sunrise bed in Kaski district, arguably. Room 2 shares the deck's other corner. Room 3 is the small one at the back — cheapest, quietest, no view, and worth it if you're out walking all day.

Hot water
Solar with gas top-up. 06:00–09:00 and 17:00–20:00 in winter; outside those hours, it is cold water and character.
Rooms in winter
Dec–Jan nights are 2–4°C and the rooms are cold until the heater has run 30 minutes. Thick blankets and a hot-water bottle provided.
Wi-Fi
10 Mbps, works on the deck and Room 1. Not for streaming; fine for calls.
Cloud
Monsoon and late afternoons, the view goes. There is a real chance of no sunrise on any given morning — October has the best odds.
Cash
No ATMs on the ridge. Take NPR 3,000 cash for tips, tea stalls and the paragliding touts, who are persistent and legitimate.

It is a farmhouse and the listing says so — cold rooms in the morning, no bathroom downstairs, and the best sunrise of our lives with tea at 06:05 on the deck. Tanka's son knows the name of every peak. The paragliders launching below at 08:00 while you eat breakfast are a bonus.
Things to know
House rules
Dinner at 19:30 with the family; tell us by 15:00 if you don't want to eat.
Sunrise means silence on the deck until 07:00 — people come here for that, including you.
No alcohol inside; if you bring your own, the deck, and modestly — Tanka runs a small shop and knows what a village night looks like.
Don't walk the drone over the paragliding lane (and it's illegal without permission anyway).
Shoes off at the door; there are slippers and a rack for muddy boots.

Cancellation
Free cancellation until 24 h before. No sunrise? No refund — that would bankrupt every homestay on this ridge, but Tanka gives you another tea.
HimaGo covers your extra night if a strike, landslide or flight cancellation strands you — no claim form.
