About this place
Four rooms, wood stove, yak-cheese making on Fridays, 20 min walk up from the airstrip trail
Pasang and Dawa's house sits on the old trading path between Namche and Thame, in the shadow of the monastery where the Yeti scalp lives. It was their family home; the guest rooms came later, so it runs like a house and not a lodge — the same dining table, the same pot, and dinner at whatever time the dal is ready.
This is 3,780 m. There is no lift, no gas pipeline and no grid: everything arrives by mule or on someone's back. Expect a wood stove, an exceptionally good cup of chiya, hot water on a schedule, and stars that make people stand outside in their down jackets for twenty minutes.
Includes breakfast and dinner — dal bhat unlimited
Solar hot water buckets at 06:00 and 17:00

Guest room
Twin rooms have double-glazed windows; the four-bed dorm-style room is the warmest at night because it holds the stove's heat. Beds are thick, with a yak-wool blanket and a hot-water bottle that the kitchen refills at 20:00 without being asked.

Altitude
3,780 m. Do not fly in and trek out the same day; take two nights here to sleep well.
Hot water
Solar-heated buckets, free twice a day. 300-watt shower on demand (NPR 400) if the sun hid.
Power
Solar + micro-hydro, battery bank. Lights and phone charging free; the stove room stays warm from 06:00.
Wi-Fi
Namche's supplier reaches Khumjung — 2 Mbps, text and maps only, pay-per-device NPR 500/day.
Cash
Namche has ATMs (they run dry in October) and eSewa works at the shop. Bring enough rupees for the whole trek.
Bathroom
Shared, clean, Western + squat options, and — unusually for this altitude — toilet paper provided.

Or drive + walk12 h bus to Jiri, then 5 days' walking — the classic route, still the best acclimatisation you can buy.
Lukla → Khumjung2 days: Monjo, then Namche, then a 20-min climb. Mule for bags (NPR 2,500) arranged on request.

Two nights before the Gokyo loop and the two best nights of our trip. Hot-water bottle at 20:00 without asking, the stove room till 22:00, and a guide who stopped us twice because my saturation was going the wrong way. Pasang cooked for the whole house and refused to take money for the extra dal bhat.
Pasang Lhami Sherpa replied
You are always welcome at this table. Say hello to the crew in Gokyo for me.

There is no shower after 19:00, and there should not be — that is not a complaint, that is the accuracy of the listing. The shared bathroom is closer and cleaner than at any other teahouse on the trail. Radio schedule means booking takes a day; be patient and you get the best four days of your trek.
Things to know
House rules
No alcohol in the rooms; beer available in the bar until 21:00 (it slows acclimatisation, Pasang will tell you the same).
Please use the bucket bath rather than long showers — water is carried.
Walk on the right uphill; the mule trains have priority and so does the prayer-flag line.
Don't wear your trekking boots inside the guest rooms; there's a rack in the porch.
Photograph people, monks and mani stones after asking, never from behind while circling a gompa clockwise-first.
